Hi all, hoping a genuine collector of match worn shirts can help. I try and pick up a few cheap match worn items from ebay when funds permit and have noticed a massive influx of 2007/08 shirts onwards in recent months. Might be the economy forcing genuine collectors to trim their collection or it might be people selling on replicas as match worn. I imagine a mix of both. I know for pre 2007/08 shirts the numbers had to be 10 inches and the letters 3 inches but the style changed last season. I imagine the numbers should still be 10 inches but what about the letters? Clearly the font is very different but to me it looks smaller on the players backs. Any other differences I should be looking out for on the shirts of recent seasons? It's so much easier on the older ones...someone once said to me that players shirts name and numbers should be in felt, and fans in plastic - does this ring true? Thanks all

Player shirts have felt names & numbers. The letters are approx 2" and the numbers approx 10"(The current style). I've just measured one of mine and that's what the tape measure told me!!
I think there have been a fair amount of shirts coming out of Everton in recent seasons coupled with the fact that players go through so many shirts nowadays resulting in lots of worn and issued shirts knocking about. People will always try and fake football shirts but in reality Everton shirts aren't usually at the top of a fakers list mainly because there just isn't the market that there is for other clubs.

Whats the average price for match worn or issued shirts for 2007/08 season onwards?
Plus what's the average price in the current financial climate?

Barrett - It all depends mate. If you've got a collector looking to sell then it's going to be cheaper than buying from a dealer who will be looking at 150+. It's all relative though, Man Utd worn shirts go for thousands. Even a fringe player will set you back 700-800 from the last couple of seasons.
