i agree jimmy.i used to work there for steve milne.i miss it and those characters as well.i met very good people there in roy who was milne right hand man and james who was a top quality lad and milnes wife is a wonderfull lady also.very well liked and respected and i also got to know reverend harry ross well which im proud to say cause he is a legend in my eyes that man.i looked forward to working there every home match.it was heaven for me.i did my job i sold programmes for steve milne but i loved it and i got extra buzz outta helping genuine everton collectors with their lists and wants that they needed and wanted.i got to know a fair few faces and names of people in there as well as you.thats gone now.i also fell in love with when skies are grey also in there.bought a fair few t shirts from phil and the lads in there in the time and also ex players popping in to always chat to steve milne.got to know them very well that in itself was fantastic.having a drink of coffee with duncan mackenzie before a derby match is one of best memories of that place.i miss it also.a lot has been lost by one man falling out with another man.thats all i'll say on it.

Popped in there a couple of times just before it closed. I'd never been in there previously so I'm glad I had the chance to have a look around and buy a few programmes before it closed.

jimmy it would wonderfull if someone could get it going again back upstairs but i think reverend ross wouldnt let it happen.thats a shame cause something has been lost there on that street corner and into st lukes upstairs.i think phil and when skies are grey lads would also go back in there like a shot they got kicked out as well as steve milne.so the innocent suffered also on that score.they'd jump at the chance to get back inside the church i know that for a fact.i also know that reverend ross probably wouldnt be interested anymore in letting someone upstairs into that huge massive room unless i dont know.you'd have to get intouch with reverend ross and seek him out for his views on the idea he might give you short stirf though on the subject.it still a touchy subject and i and others still dont know exactly what happened to this day about why it all ended, all i know is reverend ross called me into the church on sunday when we beat arsenal in the snowstorm with johnson's late winner at gwaldys st and told me to never mention or talk of steve milne again.it was over.i was a good lad who he liked and that told me he'd keep an eye on me in a he knows me way,and that was that.i think maybe if people had old programmes they wanted to sell they could revive it.....its an absolute goldmine for programmes.

dan i'll come in with you to help you on the team you gonna put together.i more than happily come in with you.maybe we could put together a crew of us from this site.if you went to harry ross with that.he'd listen to you and your arguements and your proposals if you tell him im in on it with you he knows me.he just might consider it mate.its a huge room up there.its a crying shame its going to waste.the potential is huge.the footy programme fair would be a massive hit if brought back.the audience is still there amongst evertonians.reverend ross could look at it and think maybe a deal for a rent possible could be entered into.you'd have to talk to him dan.but i for one will volunteer to work with you mate in there.also get intouch with skies are grey.phil and the lads.ask reverend ross first obviously if he wants them in there again.if he does they could go halves with you to the building :-) i dont need email mate everything i gotta say i can say it in here openly to you and everyone.all i say is im completely behind you on your idea and suggestion mate.

dan you need to get intouch with harry ross quickly man about your idea.hes waiting to hear from you. OK mate I'll pop in on Wednesday on my way past. I'll take my missus. He's sure to listen to me as I know we see each other now and then. I'll see what he has to say and let everyone know - although I obviously don't know all the personalities involved I have made contact with the club directly (on terms with Robert Elstone etc.) and Harry knows all this. Get back to you soon! Dan

Steve,
The news I bring as follows.
Spoke to Rev Ross this afternoon - he is amenable to listening to those who are interested in hiring the room. The interested people will need to call on a Thursday between 7-8 pm in order to put their case to the Church Wardens who are in attendance at that time. So I guess Blue Kipper, WSAG etc and anyone else need to go and see them then.
I did have an indicative cost of £30-35 for say 12.30-2.30 on Match Days (or whatever time those interested would want).
Daniel

I don't know if this went any further but if it did and there was option to buy into the idea and hold a stall there myself I would be happy to hear about it.
I used to go in and have a look around from time to time and hold a season ticket still so am always around the ground early. I now run a small on line store selling everton programmes and memorabilia but would love the opportunity of a stall or table which obviously would be happy to pay for within the upstairs of the church on a matchday.
Don't know how it would work but if you are looking for partners then please let me know on info@evertonmemorabilia.co.uk
Cheers
Andy
ps. I dont hold a massive amount of stock but certainly enough for a table to hopefully get people back into going as it was great fun.
